We Are Learning To Draw A Self-Portrait

Self Portraits

This term Room 9/27 have been learning to sketch a picture of our face.

We practised in our sketch books first and it was a very long process.

First we had to get the shape and size of our head right.  Then we had to work on our features like our eyes, nose, ears and mouth and other details that made us who we are.  Then we added in our hair and neck and shoulders.  It was hard work but we are very proud of our finished pictures which we coloured in using pastels.

We Are Learning To Read For Specific Information

I love reading because I get to learn new words in books.

Sometimes I get a bit stuck on chapter books.

I try to robot the words if they are too hard.

We Are Learning To Add Detail To Our Writing

I like to write about swimming in rock-pools.

Sometimes it is tricky to read the words.

When I get stuck I can ask the teacher.

It is tricky because I can't understand the words.
