WALT - edit our writing.

We used our iPads to edit a writing on 'Explain Yourself'. I worked with my team - Del and Ella. It was great fun!

We worked together to make sure...
* There is be a full stop at the end of a sentence
* We start a sentence with a capital letter
* To check for spelling mistakes

Reading Eggs

Here are my results from Reading Eggs. I am going to try harder and do more Reading Lessons. The recommended Reading Level at this time of the year is Lesson 60. I won't forget to read books in the Reading Eggs library. I will go on Reading Eggs daily during the Summer holiday!

Patterns and Actions

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

WALT - use different art skills to make the Very Hungry Caterpillar art. 

I used paint, pastels, wax crayons, dye to make our artwork. I even used coloured vivid to colour in my butterfly!

My artwork was displayed in the Auditorium for the Art Exhibition. I am very proud of it.

It was Teddybear’s Picnic. I loved reading to my teddy.

Silly Sentences

LI - We are learning to write a silly sentence

A vowel is a sound that goes in the middle. I am learning to listen carefully to a silly sentence and write it down after doing the robot. Our silly sentence of the day is ‘Jen then got a red hen'

Bunnings Workshop

LI - to make a simple product using building tools.

I made a cool photo frame using a hammer and nails. I painted it with my favourite colours.

School’s birthday party

Our inquiry this term is ‘Celebrations’. Our school has turned 50 years old! Happy Birthday Elm Park School.

We had a great party in Room 2. We made our own party hats using coloured paper and tissue paper. We decorated biscuits, played limbo, pass the parcel and we even cut out own class cake! Some of our parents came along to join us too. What a memorable day.

The 3 Rs

I know our 3 school values - Respect, Resilience and Responsibility. Listen to what I have to say about one of them. In Room 2, I try my best to reach 100 in my tick chart!

WALT count using materials

I am learning to count using materials. I can count the jellybeans up to 9. When I add one more, it makes 10!

I can sort the shapes into different groups.

WALT - recognise my sight words

For Reading, I am working on Level Magenta. My goal is to learn 11 more words from the list. To become a better reader, I know I have to learn all my High Frequency Words and read 2-3 books every day with mum and dad. 

WALT - begin a sentence using the words - I see

I wrote about what I see and feel in Summer.

In Term 1, I am learning to write words and make sentences. I am learning to write the words - I, am, see, can and went.

My goal is to remember to put finger spaces and form my words correctly.

WALT - use Sunshine Online.

In Term 1, I am learning to use Sunshine Online. It is one of my Reading activities. It helps me learn my sounds and letter names.
